CLS01 - Summer English & General Activity Course

Full accommodation with a respectable and inspected Irish Family. This includes bed, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal.

On the first day all students are given a Welcome Pack which firstly contains a Welcoming Letter from the Director, rules of the School, some general information regarding Cork and Cobh and an outline of the Course. It also includes an Inquiry Book of general questions to help create an interaction between student and host family as the questions are to be answered with family assistance in the evening time.

Three hours daily tuition - 15 hours per week, 20 classes per week - by fully qualified highly experienced native teachers.
All books, texts supplied by the school.
Diplomas or certificates of attendance at the end of the course.
One full day's excursion weekly (Saturday).
One half day visit to Cork every Wednesday afternoon to places of cultural and historical interest.
Special bus/rail tickets, granting free travel in Cork and its environs for the duration of the stay.
Special weekly disco with opportunity to meet students of other nationalities.
Activities in our General English and Activity Programme also include Bowling, Cinema, Karaoke, Irish Dance and Song, Beach BBQ.

Afternoon Sports

Students have access on site to an indoor gymnasium for basketball, badminton, football, dance etc.
Students have access to an indoor heated swimming pool.
Students have access to an outdoor all weather pitch for hurling, football, tag rugby, and other such sports.
All students will have ample opportunity to participate in their favourite sport.
All sports activities will be fully supervised at all times.

Class Content

Teachers teach as a team to ensure material is not repeated.

Class content includes: Reading, writing, listening, speaking, conversation and grammar. Options also include teaching songs and poetry for phonetics in practice, participation in short drama and writing a short article for a student’s magazine. Students have an exam at the beginning of each session to assess their standard of English and they are then placed in an appropriate class level.Sets of modern text books are available at the discretion of each teacher who uses them in conjunction with their own repertoire of other teaching materials.
